Sordoni is serving as Construction Manager for Friendship House’s new downtown Scranton Care Center, supporting their long‑standing mission to provide behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults.
Phase 1 work included full removal of the existing façade down to the sub‑framing and installation of a new exterior. The team managed extensive scaffolding along busy city sidewalks and completed a full roof replacement requiring crane operations, street closures, and coordinated traffic control. Sordoni worked closely with the City of Scranton, the Parking Authority, and all AHJs to ensure public safety.
Phase 2 involved complete interior demolition, uncovering unforeseen conditions that required design adjustments. Sordoni and HC Architects collaborated closely to keep the project on schedule, allowing renovations to begin in January 2024.
