Sordoni was the CM at Risk for the Renovation of the Corporate Office Headquarters for Gentex Corporation. Exploratory demolition began in September 2020. Main project construction commenced in March 2021 with extensive interior renovations to the office area and roof replacement on this 125 year old building. The 30,000 SF office area includes opening the center space to the existing old wood sawtooth roof structure and adding new skylights, to create an open “Town Center” space that will act as a causal meeting space, a café, and a living Museum area to showcase all of Gentex’s past and future products and stories that has made them the innovative company they are today. The existing IT data room was relocated and outfitted with a new fire suppression system and AHU systems. The open office floor plan received all new flooring and ceilings, with custom perforated metal panel accent ceilings. The entire area was equipped with new air handling units and electrical, along with a new conference room and individual offices with break out conference rooms with full glass wall systems and a new bathroom layout with upgraded finishes.
