Sordoni was the Construction Manager as Adviser for the renovation and addition of the Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence Charter School. The existing 33,000 SF building is comprised of administrative offices, staff and faculty spaces, a large multi-purpose/cafeteria room and academic spaces. The new 14,000 SF two-story addition consists of classrooms for students as well as a new main office area and entry, a science classroom, general meeting and circulation space in the new spacious main lobby, which will double as student break-out and assembly areas. The second floor has a connector bridge to the existing building. The facility received new parking areas with arrival and dismissal queuing on campus to minimize the on-street backup for cars and school buses. This new traffic flow and parking area also allowed a portion of the existing parking area to be converted into hard surface play areas.
