Sordoni was the Construction Manager for Kalahari Resorts Convention Center expansion which more than double the size of its already large convention center. Groundbreaking was held on June 26, 2018 with construction commencing in July 2018. This 104,500 SF expansion features a 38,000 SF Grand Ballroom which can be divided into 8 mini suites, 2,000 SF each and 2 Kilimanjaro suites at 11,000 SF each. The 12,000 SF Junior Ballroom also has the capability to be divided into 8 mini suites of 1,500 SF each.
New amenities include an exclusive executive conference center for up to 400 guests, giant sun-drenched pre-function spaces, enhanced load-in and load-out capabilities, and substantial registration and client office areas. The resort also features an African-themed décor, a large family entertainment center and a 200,000 square foot waterpark.
The project was completed in December 2019.
