Sordoni was Design-Builder for a 73-home expansion of Brooks Estates at United Methodist Homes in Jenkins Township. Brooks Estates offers residents 55+ a “live better lifestyle” as part of the Wesley Village Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).
Situated on an 18-acre site, the independent living homes are clustered around shared driveways and green space in pocket neighborhoods. Walking lanes along the roadways help facilitate an active lifestyle, and generous front porches and rear patios extend the living space outside. Inside, the homes feature a modern and airy layout totaling 1640 square feet, with two bedrooms, two baths and an attached garage. Residents are able to choose from an extensive menu of interior finishes, including kitchen and bath cabinets, counters, flooring and paint colors.
The homes were built utilizing modular construction with precast concrete foundations. This enabled Sordoni to work around site and weather challenges while the buildings were constructed off-site in a controlled plant environment. Site work began in the fall of 2018 and the project was completed in 2020.
