Sordoni was the Construction Manager for this new 19,400 SF church for Saint Jude Parish. It was designed using the traditional cruciform plan that incorporates amphitheater-semicircular style seating along with 30’ high clear span heavy timber wood trusses that allow an unlikely combination of monumental volume while creating intimacy within the space.
Utilizing a contemporary aesthetic, the church honors reclaimed elements of past churches including stain glass windows, crucifix, tabernacle, original paintings and statues. The entrance to the church opens to the narthex, or gathering place. Clear glass at the entrance allows for people to see through to the altar on the south side of the building.
